Job Summary:

Neo is seeking a highly motivated, early-career sales professional to join its Rare Metals team as an Account Manager, Rare Earth Sales for North America. This role is designed for someone building a career in technical or commodity sales who wants to develop deep commercial and product expertise in rare earth materials - including neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, terbium, and related products - used in magnets, catalysts, and other advanced applications.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, North America, this individual will manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts while learning the fundamentals of a fast-moving, cyclical commodity market. This is not a passive, order-taking role - it requires curiosity, self-motivation, and the drive to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. With demonstrated performance, this position offers a clear path toward greater account ownership and responsibility within Neo's Rare Metals business.

Essential Functions

1.Account Management & Customer Support

• Manage day-to-day relationships with an assigned portfolio of North American customer accounts.

• Process and track quotes, orders, and contracts in coordination with supply chain and logistics teams.
\n
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding pricing, product specifications, and delivery timing.
\n

2.Sales & Business Development Support

\n
• Support senior Key Account Managers and the Business Development team in identifying new customer opportunities.
\n
• Assist in preparing proposals, pricing analyses, and sales presentations.
\n
• Build foundational negotiation skills through mentorship and hands-on account work.
\n

3.Market & Technical Learning

\n
• Develop working knowledge of rare earth products, applications, and end markets (magnetics, catalysts, alloys, and more).
\n
• Monitor rare earth pricing, supply and demand trends, and competitive activity.
\n
• Participate in ongoing training on Neo's products, manufacturing processes, and the broader rare earth supply chain.
\n

4.Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure customer commitments are met.
\n
• Coordinate with Marketing and Business Development on customer-facing materials and trade show support.
\n
• Escalate and help resolve customer issues in a timely, professional manner.
\n

5.Travel & Customer Engagement

\n
• Travel throughout North America (average 25%) to visit customers, attend industry conferences, and support account reviews.
\n
• Participate in occasional international travel to Neo facilities or global sales meetings as needed.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field (recent graduates encouraged to apply); OR 3–5 years of experience in commodity, industrial, or technical sales, ideally within metals, materials, or chemicals

• Genuine interest in sales, negotiation, and commercial strategy
\n
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn complex, cyclical commodity markets
\n
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); CRM experience a plus
\n
• Willingness to travel within North America approximately 25% of the time, with occasional international travel
\n
• Valid passport required (or ability to obtain one prior to start date)

Base Salary Range: USD$75,000 – USD $85,000 annual, plus performance bonus and a comprehensive benefits package
